One of the questions I’m asked the most is my Nikon’s with my Sigma 300 F/2.8. This is one of the most popular request according to my stats. Well, I’ve been using this Sigma lens with my Nikon’s with no glitches at all. When I placed the order for this lens, it was done with a 500 F/4.5 and 15mm F/2.8 fisheye lens also from Sigma with no problems at all. If you get a good copy today of the Sigma 300 F/2.8, you’ll be a happy camper. This is not a legendary Nikkor I know, but definetly is worth the money and I’m getting the queality that comes with a prime telephoto for less than half the price of a Nikkor.
Along I’m attaching two sample pictures with the Sigma 300 F/2.8 + Sigma 1.4x tele-converter on my Nikon D90 mounted on a Bogen Manfrotto monopod.
My good frind Felix Arellano from Spain bought this lens based on my report and he can’t be happier with it in the tracks. His version is the DG (Optimized for digital) while mine isn’t. He recently got the TS-41 from Sigma and he’s having a great positive experience with it. He kindly provided me with the reference picture below.
To see sample pictures with the Sigma 300 F/2.8 on a Nikon D200 and on a recently purchased D300, visit Felix’s blog Fotocar.es.
UPDATE: Felix just wrote in to let me know that his lens is NOT the DG version. Sorry for my misunderstanding.
